Mental Health Therapist in Westwood, MA
Maybe you’ve been thinking about therapy for a while, but haven’t quite known where to start. You may be thoughtful, capable, and used to figuring things out on your own. You may even have a pretty good idea of why you feel the way you do. And yet, you keep finding yourself in situations you don’t want to be in, especially in your relationships.
I work with adults and couples who are struggling with attachment, boundaries, low self-esteem, and relationship issues. You may know what you want to do, but find yourself doing something else when emotions take over. Together, we can look at why these patterns keep showing up and help you build more trust in yourself and your relationships.
I’m a Massachusetts Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) with nearly 20 years of experience in the mental health field. My office is located in nearby Norwood, MA, and I also offer online therapy throughout Massachusetts and New York
Individual Therapy For Men & Women in Westwood, MA
You may be thoughtful and self-aware. You may have read the books, listened to the podcasts, and spent plenty of time thinking about why you feel the way you do. And yet, you still find yourself doing things you don’t want to do.
You know you need to set a boundary, but you don’t. You want to speak up, but you hold back. You tell yourself you won’t get pulled into the same dynamic again, but somehow you do. Maybe you spend hours replaying a conversation or wondering if you were too sensitive, too demanding, or not clear enough.
Our work can help you look more closely at what happens in these moments and what may be getting in the way of trusting yourself.
You don’t need to come to therapy with a perfect explanation. We can start with what’s happening in your life right now and figure out where to go from there.
Many of my clients are navigating:
- Relationship patterns that keep repeating
- Overthinking or constant mental noise
- Stress, burnout, or feeling overwhelmed
- Self-esteem and self-worth challenges
- Life transitions or feeling stuck in the “in-between”
- Difficulty managing emotions or reactions
- Childhood trauma or early experiences
- Depression and anxiety
- Grief, anger, or feeling stuck
- Career-related stress and pressure
Couples & Marriage Therapy in Westwood, MA
You love each other, but you keep ending up in the same fight.
One of you gets frustrated and pushes harder. The other shuts down or pulls away. The conversation goes in circles until someone walks away, and neither of you feels heard. Later, you may both wish you had handled things differently, but the next disagreement follows a familiar pattern.
Couples therapy can be helpful when communication has become difficult, resentment has built up, or you feel disconnected from each other. You may be dealing with conflict around parenting, money, intimacy, trust, family, or the day-to-day pressures of being together.
As a couples and marriage therapist, I work with both partners to look at what is happening between you and what each of you brings to the relationship. This isn’t about deciding who is right or wrong. It’s about taking an honest look at the dynamic between you and finding ways to relate to each other that feel more respectful and productive. You don’t have to wait until your relationship is in crisi to seek couples therapy. Reaching out earlier can help you address concerns before they become harder to talk about.
When You Keep Having the Same Fight
Sometimes the argument isn’t really about the dishes, the text message, the in-laws, or who forgot to do something (okay, sometimes it really is).
A small disagreement can quickly turn into something much bigger. One person feels criticized. The other feels dismissed. Someone becomes defensive, and suddenly you’re both arguing about everything that has happened over the past six months.
If this sounds familiar, couples therapy can give you a place to slow down those interactions and look at what’s actually happening between you.
My training with couples is a mix of Relational Life Therapy (RLT) and Parts Work. RLT is an approach that looks at the relationship while also asking each person to take responsibility for their own role in it.
Rather than focusing only on communication techniques and other skills, Parts Work then provides a framework where we can look at what happens during difficult moments and what each of you can do within yourselves to create a healthier relationship.
My Approach To Therapy
I don’t believe therapy should be about sitting quietly while you do all the talking. I’ll ask questions, share what I notice, and sometimes challenge you when I think something deserves a closer look.
My approach incorporates Parts Work, Relational Life Therapy, and Interpersonal Neurobiology. These approaches give us different ways to look at the reactions, beliefs, and experiences that show up in your relationships and everyday life.
My work is especially focused on helping adults and couples who want to understand why they keep doing things they don’t want to do. You may already have plenty of insight into yourself. Therapy can help you take that insight a step further and build more confidence in your ability to make choices that feel right for you.
Therapy is collaborative. You bring your experiences and what you’re dealing with, and we work together to figure out where to focus.

Ready to Get Started?
You don’t need to have everything figured out before reaching out. Maybe you’re looking for help with a relationship, struggling to set boundaries, or trying to feel more confident in yourself. Or maybe you and your partner know that the way you’re communicating isn’t working anymore.
We can start with a conversation about what’s been going on and what you’re hoping to work on.
How long does it take for therapy to work, and how often will we meet?
It really depends on the person. Some people start to notice small shifts pretty quickly, while deeper change takes more time. Most clients start with weekly or bi-weekly sessions since that’s where I see most progress. We can always adjust as we go, but meeting less often can slow things down a bit.

How do I know if therapy is right for me?
If you keep running into the same problems in your relationships, struggle to set boundaries, or understand what you want to change but have a hard time actually changing it, therapy may be worth considering. You don’t have to have a specific diagnosis or know exactly what you need to work on. We can start with what’s happening in your life and figure out what would be helpful from there.
