Individual Therapy In Massachusetts

Helping You Understand and Change the Patterns Keeping You Stuck

I work with adults in Norwood, MA and surrounding communities, offering both in-person and virtual therapy throughout Massachusetts.

If you’ve been feeling stuck in the same patterns, reacting in ways you don’t fully understand, or wondering why certain things keep affecting you so strongly, you’re not alone. A lot of the work we do together is about slowing things down and getting clearer on what’s really going on.

I draw from Relational Life Therapy and Parts Work to help you understand where these patterns come from, so you can begin to shift them in a way that feels lasting and real.

How Individual Therapy Helps You Change Unhealthy Patterns

Individual therapy helps you understand the patterns that keep showing up in your life—especially the ones that don’t seem to change, no matter how much effort you put in.

Often, those patterns are connected to earlier experiences, learned coping strategies, or ways of relating that made sense at one point but don’t feel helpful anymore.

Because those responses were learned over time, it can feel frustrating when you want to react differently but your real-time reactions still feel automatic in the moment.

You might notice these patterns showing up in ways like:

  • reacting more strongly than you want to in certain situations
  • getting stuck in cycles of overthinking or self-doubt
  • repeating patterns in relationships
  • shutting down, avoiding, or feeling overwhelmed
  • knowing what you should do, but feeling unable to follow through

In our work together, we take a closer look at where those responses come from and how they’re being reinforced. That includes understanding your thoughts, emotional reactions, and the coping strategies you’ve developed over time.

As that awareness builds, things begin to shift. You can start responding differently, feel more grounded in your emotions, and make choices that feel more aligned with who you are and how you want to live.

Many of my clients are navigating:

  • Relationship patterns that keep repeating
  • Overthinking or constant mental noise
  • Stress, burnout, or feeling overwhelmed
  • Self-esteem and self-worth challenges
  • Life transitions or feeling stuck in the “in-between”
  • Difficulty managing emotions or reactions
  • Childhood trauma or early experiences
  • Depression and anxiety
  • Grief, anger, or feeling stuck
  • Career-related stress and pressure

Common Areas I Help With

Relationship Patterns

Understanding recurring dynamics and how to shift them in a way that feels healthier and more aligned.

Overthinking & Anxiety

Learning how to quiet the mental noise and respond more calmly instead of feeling stuck in your head.

Stress & Burnout

Finding ways to slow down, reset, and feel more grounded in your day-to-day life.

Self-Esteem

Building a more stable sense of self-worth that isn’t constantly shaped by others or circumstances.

Life Transitions

Navigating change, uncertainty, and the “in-between” phases with more clarity and support.

Emotional Regulation

Understanding your reactions so you can respond with more awareness and intention.

What Brings You to Therapy?

You might be asking yourself things like:

  • Why do I overreact in certain situations?
  • Why can’t I stop overthinking?
  • Why do I keep repeating the same patterns?
  • How do I become more open and communicative?
  • Why do I always feel on edge?
  • How can I handle things differently?
You’re not alone in asking these questions.

What Starting Therapy With Me Looks Like

Starting therapy doesn’t have to feel overwhelming. The first step is simply reaching out.

From there, we’ll talk about what’s been going on, what you’re hoping for, and what feels like a good next step for you.

My Approach: I won’t just sit back quietly and listen. I’ll engage with you, challenge you, and sometimes call you out. Usually, that’s because some part of you already knows something isn’t working and you’re ready to look at it differently. Our work together is about doing exactly that—understanding what’s going on underneath the surface so you can start responding differently.

You don’t need to have everything figured out or know exactly what to say. You can come as you are. If you’ve been thinking about therapy, this is a place to begin.

Let's Work Together

If this sounds like you…

  • You’re not sure where to start, but you know something needs to shift
  • You’ve been trying to figure things out on your own, and it’s still feeling stuck
  • You want support, but also space to understand things in your own way
  • You’re ready for something to feel different, even if you’re not sure how yet

We can talk through what’s been going on, what you’re hoping for, and what might make sense as a next step.

You’re welcome to reach out with questions, or go ahead and schedule if you’re ready. I offer in person therapy in Norwood, MA and welcome clients from surrounding communities throughout Norfolk County, as well as virtually throughout Massachusetts.

How do I get started with individual therapy?

Getting started is simple. You can schedule a free consultation by calling 857-891-0146 or reach out through the contact form. From there, we’ll briefly connect to see if it feels like a good fit and talk through what you’re looking for support with. If you’re ready to book now, you can click here to book on Zocdoc.

How long does it take for therapy to work, and how often will we meet?

It really depends on the person. Some people start to notice small shifts pretty quickly, while deeper change takes more time. Most clients start with weekly or bi-weekly sessions since that’s where I see most progress. We can always adjust as we go, but meeting less often can slow things down a bit.

Can therapy help if I don’t know what exactly is wrong?

Yes! Many people start therapy without a clear reason. They may just have a sense that something feels off and are aware they need help managing. You don’t have to have the “right words” to begin. Part of the process is helping you understand what you’re experiencing and discover why.

Where are you located? Do you offer virtual therapy sessions?

My physical office is in Norwood, MA where I hold in-person sessions but I offer virtual therapy as well throughout Massachusetts. It’s whatever my clients are more comfortable with.
